Why it asks for Google access

Connecting a Google account is optional, and the system asks for the narrowest access that does the job:

See your calendar events (read-only) — so the dashboard and the e-paper displays can show what is on today. Nothing is ever written back to your calendar.
Send email on your behalf — so the system can email you its own notifications, such as a message left on the owner's website. This is send-only: it cannot read, search or delete your mail.

That data is used for nothing else. It is never sold, never shared, never used for advertising, and never used to train models. You can disconnect at any time, and the stored credential is deleted immediately. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

This is a private system for a single household, not a service you can sign up for. Accounts are created by the operator.
